The club has already started to think about special events to mark the occasion, but we need more ideas and that is where YOU the players and members come in. Tell us what you'd like to happen.
Gary Fisher has already been delving in the archives for a special book to tell the rich history of our club, there are so many stories about the club and we are aiming to tell 150 of them to mark this fantastic anniversary.
For instance, did you know that the first complaint about the club was from the owners of an orchard next to the club's original pitch before we moved to Stockport Road?
Or that in 1980, Bobby Charlton played a charity football match on the back pitch.
We have a growing womens and girls section but club historian Gary Fisher has found out that women have been playing cricket at Timperley for a century.
And that's not all Gary has unearthed. The book will incorporate the club's rich history, great achievements, funny anecdotes as well as the characters past and present.
But Gary needs the help of members past and present
Please could you look in drawers, boxes in the loft, old photograph albums or even on your phone for pictures, newspaper articles, scorecards, and even cartoons from the club's history.
What stories have you got of old players, trophies, funny moments, big matches and overseas players and stars that have played at Stockport Road that you could share for the book?
We are particularly keen to hear from the younger members, we have a vibrant and thriving junior section. Young or old we want to hear about your experiences playing for Timperley CC
The clubs first year,1877 was also the year of the first ever test match between England and Australia, so 2027 is going to be a big year for cricket – we have some big, exciting plans for a year of events and the book will be a great looking, thorough and fascinating memento
Send any information and ideas, but most of all old photographs and memorabilia of the club and indeed Timperley itself to Gary at gary-fisher63@outlook.com
